Youth Space is a long-standing, youth-led provision delivering safe, inclusive spaces for young people aged 11–19 (up to 25 for those with SEND) across Tower Hamlets. Rooted in a grassroots approach, the programme engages young people who are often disengaged from mainstream services, offering a blend of recreational, educational, and developmental support shaped directly by young people’s voices.
Operating from the Osmani Centre and Minerva Community Centre, Youth Space provides consistent access to trusted youth workers, informal learning opportunities, and structured activities that promote wellbeing, confidence, and positive relationships. The programme is designed to be more than a youth club — it is a space where young people feel safe, heard, and supported to explore their potential.
Youth Space delivers a wide range of centre-based and outreach activities, including open-access youth sessions, sports, creative programmes, holiday provision, and accredited courses. Young people co-design activities through consultation and shared decision-making, ensuring relevance and ownership.
Alongside group provision, young people can access one-to-one mentoring focused on emotional wellbeing, relationships, education, and personal development. Specialist spaces — including a podcast studio, sensory room, and sports facilities — allow young people to build skills, express themselves, and prioritise wellbeing in an environment they trust. The programme maintains strong links with schools, PRUs, and local services to support young people facing additional challenges.
