THICN Capacity Building: Support for Local Groups and Young People on the Isle of Dogs

Free support for local groups charities and young people in Tower Hamlets

Looking to make a difference on the Isle of Dogs? The Tower Hamlets Island Community Network (THICN) is supporting local community groups charities and young people with free one-to-one advice to help ideas grow into lasting local impact. Led by Osmani Trust with partners including Spotlight and Streets of Growth, THICN is a grassroots network focused on reducing youth violence on the Isle of Dogs and strengthening local community capacity. It is funded through the MOPAC Violence Reduction Unit as part of the MyEnds Sustainability programme until March 2026.

Free one-to-one support for community groups and young people

Through this capacity building support on the Isle of Dogs, THICN is offering free one-to-one guidance on finding funding, starting or growing a community group or charity, improving communications, showing impact, and connecting with other local groups. Tower Hamlets CVS describes this support as no-cost one-to-one advice designed to help local people turn community ideas into practical action.

Building stronger local organisations and safer communities

This support matters because strong local groups help create stronger neighbourhoods. THICN brings together local organisations key individuals statutory partners and stakeholders to reduce youth violence and improve outcomes for young people on the Isle of Dogs. The network is managed with partners including LBTH Met Police THCVS ELBA Osmani Trust Spotlight and Streets of Growth.
