The Bridge
Programme

The Bridge Programme provides targeted, holistic mentoring for adults from minority ethnic and Muslim backgrounds who are engaging with Probation Services in Tower Hamlets and Newham. The programme supports individuals at a critical point in their lives, helping them navigate the complex barriers that often prevent successful reintegration into the community, including housing instability, unemployment, poor health, and fractured family relationships.

Delivered through consistent one-to-one mentoring, The Bridge Programme works alongside Probation Officers to support people on probation to stabilise their lives, reduce the risk of re-offending, and build positive, sustainable futures. Support is personalised, trauma-informed, and community-based, recognising that long-term change requires trust, practical help, and sustained guidance across multiple areas of need.

Mentoring
that reduces
re-offending and builds stability

Breaking the Cycle is an early prevention and intervention programme supporting children and young people aged 10–16 who are at risk of, or already involved in, violence, exploitation, and harmful behaviour. Delivered across Tower Hamlets, London and Small Heath, Birmingham, the programme works closely with schools, social services, youth justice, and families to intervene early and effectively.

At the heart of the programme is consistent 1:1 mentoring delivered in a safe, trusted environment. Young people are supported to manage emotions, build resilience, and make safer life choices, alongside diversionary activities that reduce isolation and exposure to risk.

Breaking the Cycle takes a whole-family approach, recognising that sustainable change happens when parents and carers are supported alongside young people. Families receive practical guidance, tools, and confidence to strengthen relationships, set boundaries, and respond to challenging behaviour.

By combining early intervention, trusted relationships, and partnership working, Breaking the Cycle reduces harm, improves wellbeing, and interrupts pathways into serious youth violence—creating lasting change for young people, families, and communities.
