Propel
Positive Futures

Propel Positive Futures is an early-intervention mentoring programme supporting young people aged 10–24 across Newham and Barking & Dagenham. Funded through the GLA Propel initiative, it works with young people at the earliest stages of risk—offering the guidance, stability, and trusted relationships needed to make safer, more positive life choices.

Through weekly one-to-one mentoring tailored to each young person, mentors help build resilience, self-confidence, and practical decision-making skills. The programme supports young people to re-engage with education, improve wellbeing, strengthen communication, and access positive opportunities—reducing isolation and helping them move away from harmful pathways towards brighter futures.

Trusted mentoring

Safer futures

Propel Positive Futures is an early-intervention mentoring programme supporting young people aged 10–24 across Newham and Barking & Dagenham. It exists to step in early—before challenges escalate—by pairing young people with consistent, trusted mentors who provide practical guidance, encouragement and a stable relationship they can rely on week to week.

Through tailored one-to-one support, Propel helps young people build confidence, resilience and stronger decision-making, while addressing the real-life pressures that can lead to harm. Alongside mentoring, the programme helps young people re-engage with education and positive routines, strengthen wellbeing and communication, and connect to opportunities and wider support—so they can stay on track, feel more in control, and move towards safer, more positive futures.
