A celebration of youth football diversity and community spirit in Tower Hamlets
The 16th Annual Tower Hamlets Community Cup 2024 took place on Saturday 27 July 2024 at Mile End Park Leisure Centre, bringing together over 400 young football enthusiasts for a day of competition community spirit and celebration. Organised by Osmani Trust, the tournament once again highlighted the role of community football in Tower Hamlets in bringing young people families and local communities together through sport.
A grassroots football tournament that brings communities together
The Tower Hamlets Community Cup is known for promoting youth engagement, diversity, and community cohesion. Osmani’s official event page says young people from different age groups competed in friendly but competitive matches, showing strong skill energy and sportsmanship throughout the day. The event also continued its wider role as a platform for local partnership building and raising awareness of community organisations and services in Tower Hamlets.
2024 Community Cup winners
The 2024 finals produced winners and runners-up across four age groups. Osmani’s official page lists Mindset Orange as Under 8 winners, Vallance as Under 10 winners, Impact FC as Under 12 winners, and Onside Football as Under 14 winners. The page also records Mindset FC, Canary Wharf FA, Onside Football, and One Goal as the respective runners-up.
A key Tower Hamlets youth sports event
Osmani describes the Tower Hamlets Community Cup as a cornerstone event that supports youth development, encourages a love of football, and strengthens community ties across the borough. The official article also notes the presence of Cllr Kamrul Hussain, LBTH Cabinet Member for Culture and Recreation, who presented awards and praised the event’s role in uniting the community and creating a platform for young people to shine.
